About the Establishment
A very significant landmark in the history of Mayo College was the resolution of the General Council and the Board of Governors to start an exclusive, residential school for girls on the 46 acres field, used then as the school Polo Ground. Known today as the 'sister school' of Mayo College, the school strives to meet the vision envisaged by the founders-
"We shall make it a special point to ensure that the ethos of the Girls' School is imbued with Indian traditions and culture without ignoring the present and the challenges of the future. Indian values, dance and drama will play a special role in the life of the child at the Mayo College Girls' School."
On the1st of August, 1988 - Mayo College Girls' School was established as a purely residential English medium school. Now, having celebrated it's 16th Founder's Day, the school looks forward to it's 17th Annual Prize Giving commencing November, 2004

A child has to compete for admission by appearing in an oral aptitude and intelligence test for the Nursery and KG classes. Both the parents should accompany the child at the time of the interview.
There will be a written test and interview from Class Prep. onwards. The new admission are mainly taken in the pre-primary classes of Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory, the age limits for which are 3+, 4+ and 5+, respectively.
The management of the school reserve the rights of admitting any child to the school.
Admission Test :
The admission test will cover English, Hindi, Maths and Science based on the syllabus of the preceding class to which admission is sought.No admission test for pre-primary section.

Examination Pattern
Three terminal examination are conducted in an academic year, i.e. Quarterly, Half-Yearly, and Annual. In addition, there are two unit tests conducted in the months of August and March. The final results are announed on the basis of aggregate marks of the three term exams.
Board Examintion
Board Examination i.e. Secondary Exams, are conducted in month of March by C.B.S.E. New Delhi. Simultaneously, the Senior Secondary Examinations are also conducted in March for XII std. Students.

The academic session begins from July 1st and end on May 15th every year.
